Vegas bound....

Yes, it is true. We are headed to Vegas this weekend. For our 19th anniversary Tim thought he would surprise me with a trip. Except he did not surprise me, (for those of you who know Tim, you know he does not do surprises well.) Let me back up a bit....

We were suppose to go to the snow to a friend of ours cabin this weekend for our anniversary. He usually works every weekend and does not get a chance to have a weekend away. And most of you know that me and snow do not mix. So, as I was sharing this with my husband, he said, "I have a surprise for you, we really are not going to the cabin, we are going to Vegas."

"What??" I say, "Why are you telling me now if it is a surprise?"

"Well, I wanted you to be able to pack appropriately. I thought we could go there for the weekend and see the Blue Man show."

That sounded exciting, but I still did not believe him. So, he proceeds to show me the website where he booked our room and the weekend (for a great price I might add).

I am really not a Vegas person, I don't drink, gamble or smoke, (not that those are the only things to do there, but really gambling is big on the list right?) but I am going to go and have a good attitude and enjoy some time away with my wonderful husband. We will get to walk around see some shows and shop and most importantly we won't have kids with us either.. :-)

So, talk to you "all" next week and hopefully I will have some great pics to post and a few great stories as well. Tim thinks he is going to hit it big.. :-)

Mr. Norman.... No, not my husband

I would like to introduce the newest member of our family..... Mr. Norman!!

(This is how I found him the other morning when I woke up ♥)

We adopted him into our family about 3 months ago. I know what you are thinking, what a silly name for a cat, but it just fits him somehow, and all the other names we came up with were way more stupid!! So, since he likes to be in charge, I think we picked the perfect name!! He is 5 1/2 months old and very loveable.... We got him to be a companion to our 3 yr. old cat Stormy, but so far he is a companion to all of us..... :-)

I noticed that I was collecting a few too many pictures of him on my cell phone, so, what better way to get rid of the pics..... upload them to the blog and share them with you all. Well, all is a strong word, there are only two of you following me... :-0 Maybe someday there will be more when I start writing interesting things....

Speaking of interesting.... next week check back and I will have some great news along with some fabulous pictures. We are going on a trip....... Can't wait!!

Here he is trying to weazle his way into some attention while I am doing my bible study..

How is a girl suppose to get her bible study done with cute distractions like this??

Here he is snoozing next to me on the computer..... looks comfy huh??

Playing with our little friend (he likes attention from all ages)

And lastly, next to Ryne as he is messing around on the computer.. :-)

We love our pets, well at least I do... not real sure about the real Mr. Norman, he can do without them most nights... but he loves us so he puts up with them like the great guy he is!!

Favorite words??

Do you have any favorite words you love to use? I have so many that I cannot keep track of them all. Sometimes they come out when I am frustrated or happy, or just plain angry!!

I also have some that I make up myself..... the only problem with sharing them is that they come out spontaneously and trying to write them down or remember them is difficult.

One that I would like to share is already a word used by the French. I, however, use it a different way........

Très - very He is tres smart.

I like to say "tres", but I use it to say something is cute, or I love it. Maybe you would like to adopt this new word into your vocabulary or maybe not. :-) Although, if you are anything like me, sometimes words are catchy and they get under your skin before you know it.

Here are some other words my family likes to use quite often.

Tim = promise!!! (Pretty much uses this all the time)
Ryne = sick; like; no way
Savannah = stinkin'; promise (daddy's girl)

God has given us the beautiful gift of language to communicate with each other, lets try to keep our words edifying and good for each other even when we are angry, sad, or frustrated.

Crafts and Fun.....

The other day I got an invite to my SIL's house to do a "crop". For those of you that don't know what that means, it is a day to either scrapbook, make cards, or to put together a project of any kind. So, who could turn down an invite like that. I had a few projects to work on, so off I went to Chandler for a fun afternoon of scrappin'.

One of the projects I had was to do some Save the Dates for a friend of mine who is getting married in August. I know what you are thinking, that is a big project to take on. I thought the same thing, but I was so excited someone actually asked me to do something like this that I took it on whole heartedly. :-)

I think this is the one... :-) (above)

We may take the other template (horizontal) and turn it to make the actual
wedding invitations...

And if this was not enough fun for us, we made Valentine's as well.
♥ ♥

What a great day, thanks Deb and Carrie, I had a great time and look forward to next month so we can do it again!!! :-)

Look above to see her wonderful artwork. My "header"

Chugging along....

It is Friday and we made it through our first week back to schooling after Christmas break. We had a rough beginning, but with a little prayer and
perseverance we did it. Now, only 3 1/2 months to go ;-)

Ryne and I were invited to a dinner at ASU Barrett Honors College this week. Quite an honor no doubt. The top students at each of the local high schools are invited, so he was among the elite, very proud mom moment. He has been accepted into the Mechanical Engineering program and joined others with the same major at his table. Looking around and talking to them made us both realize he was not created to be an engineer. Don't get me wrong, he is smart enough. He is just too personable to be stuck behind a desk somewhere. He is now looking into the business college there. He will however, apply to the honors college within ASU and hope he can be enrolled in that program. Now, to see what scholarships he can get to pay for it all..........

Ballet is back in full swing again for Savannah. She is now a Grade 3 student in RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) this year. She will be taking exams in April over the material they are learning and they are gearing up for it all ready. When (not if) she passes she will be on "pointe" next year. She is really looking forward to that. :-) She is taking lessons twice a week for an hour each day. She LOVES it!!! All day long she dances and practices. Nice to have your kids doing something they love instead of having to MAKE them practice and do it.

The Lord has blessed me with such an amazing family... I don't deserve them, but glad I have them all.

To Blog or not to Blog.....

Okay, so everyone is doing this "blog" thing except for me, which actually makes sense, seeing as how I don't like to write much. However, Savannah was reading over my shoulder and asked why I don't "blog". So, I will give it a try.... not sure if I have anything to say, and I am VERY sure I won't have many pics to post of craft things like my awesome SIL Deb, but nonetheless, I will try to
be witty and creative in what I share. So, if you so desire, stay posted for a few words about the Norman Clan.... i.e. Tim, Liz, Ryne and Savannah.....
